ABOUT CITATION ATLAS · EARLY BETA
See your work in
the wider literature.
Visualize the research and people connected to your work.
Explore the story behind its influence.
Why this exists
Citation Atlas is being built to help researchers understand their effect on the wider body of research. The motivation is to make that story visible: which papers cite their work, who wrote those papers, and how those connections extend into the surrounding literature.
A single statistic cannot tell that whole story. By mapping citation connections and making the papers and authors easier to explore, Citation Atlas helps researchers investigate the work their research connects to and the people behind it.
Those connections are also starting points for discovery. Follow a paper into related research, read the original sources, and keep the papers and notes that help you understand what you find.
Citation links are evidence of a recorded connection, not proof of influence, agreement or research quality. The map covers available indexed data, so it cannot show every effect of a researcher’s work. Reading the original papers is part of understanding the story.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Start browsing. Then follow a connection.
Search without signing in
Find a researcher, check their indexed publications, and choose a paper. You can also explore the fixed examples on our use-case pages.
Sign in to explore and save
Use Google sign-in to open citation maps, save explorations, and keep papers with notes. Searching a researcher does not claim their identity.
Check the sources
This beta uses prepared research collections. Explore saved networks and any second-order connections already included. The site owner prepares new collections and updates; use Contact Us to request one. Check the saved source dates and original papers.
A PROJECT IN DEVELOPMENT
Help shape the beta.
We are learning which research tasks this makes easier and where it gets in the way. Useful discoveries, incorrect data and confusing moments are all valuable feedback.
The examples are illustrative journeys using dated research data, not testimonials or evidence of university endorsement. Publication and citation metadata mainly comes from OpenAlex; coverage can be incomplete or incorrect.
No checkout or paid subscription is enabled. Prices shown on the pricing page are proposals.
